This is a collection of my poems from "the time I became good at it" onwards – and that would be some ... let's skip the math. I Want to Go to Andromeda comes from my college days; Musings of a Satellite: the Voyager II was written when it disappeared in 1993. Perhaps people who said I've always had my head in the clouds were not far wrong. On the other hand, the "Toad poems" were started in 1990 and the Trilogy was finished in 1995, when the toads were finally able "to get to the other side." One could say that my interests are wide ranging. It is also very fair to say that I see things from "some other point of view" &ndash such as Murphy's At Thanksgiving. I like to write in any and all styles, use what fits the topic, use formal and set forms – "worst of all," I like rhyme. So do a lot of readers of poetry. It just requires vocabulary. I don't much care for the deliberately obscure and confusing stuff I see so much of today. Last, I have not included any sad poems in this group - we have enough sorrow around us. The world I created here will be fun for the reader.
